Dak Prescott Discusses Micah Parsons’ Situation with the Cowboys
The quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott, recently addressed the ongoing contract discussions involving star linebacker Micah Parsons. Prescott, who has navigated contract negotiations with team owner Jerry Jones himself, suggested that resolving financial issues is always possible, assuming the terms are right.
“At the end of the day, it’s business,” Prescott explained. “It’s important not to take things personally. That’s where complications can arise. Once a contract is finalized, we can all move ahead.”
Despite Parsons’ recent trade requests, Prescott noted that the linebacker seems to be having a hard time accepting that the team is progressing without him.
“Not really,” he responded when asked about the chance of Parsons playing elsewhere. “If I hadn’t been in his position before, I might understand it better, but I have. It’s… tricky.”
He remains positive about Parsons, asserting, “I believe he’s a Cowboy, and I’m hopeful about his future here.”
Though Parsons missed practice on Thursday due to back issues, he is still participating in training camp to avoid penalties. Reports indicate he has been receiving treatment for his condition.
Earlier this week, team owner Jerry Jones mentioned that Parsons is uncertain about participating in the season opener against the Eagles on September 4th.
Similarly, Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed a hopeful outlook about Parsons’ situation. “We’re planning to utilize Micah in multiple ways on the field,” he stated. “We focus on the present and what we need to do now. I really do hope he’ll be with us.”
Meanwhile, Parsons’ agent, David Murgueta, has been vocal about the tense nature of the ongoing negotiations between the player and Jones.
