35 Best Quarterbacks for Fantasy Football in 2025

The 2025 NFL season is just around the corner—well, depending on how quickly you read this, of course. As I jot this down, the preseason games are kicking off, making it feel like football is truly just moments away. Below, you’ll find a ranking of fantasy football quarterbacks for the upcoming season. Now, I’m guessing you might not completely agree, and honestly, I probably won’t either by the end of the day. When you have to rank 35 quarterbacks, your opinions might shift as kickoff approaches. While significant changes are unlikely unless there are injuries or unexpected events, it’s always good to keep an eye on the rankings.

Last season saw two non-rushing quarterbacks, Joe Burrow and Baker Mayfield, break into the top five of fantasy scoring, each throwing over 40 touchdown passes. This is pretty crucial since rushing yards don’t tend to add many fantasy points. On the other hand, there’s Lamar Jackson, who not only rushed over 900 yards but also threw 40 touchdown passes—he finished not far behind Burrow with 45 fantasy points. It’s hard to anticipate Jackson replicating those numbers this year, but having a rushing quarterback certainly gives you an edge. Looking at him, along with Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, and Jaden Daniels, could provide that extra space for a breakout performance.

With only 32 starting quarterbacks in the league, calling someone a sleeper is a bit tricky. However, every year brings surprises, and last season, players like Baker Mayfield, Bo Nix, and Jayden Daniels exceeded expectations compared to their average draft positions. So, who will step up this year?

Trevor Lawrence has had a bit of a disappointing start to his career, but like Mayfield, he’s counting on support from new head coach Liam Cohen. He also boasts strong receivers this year in Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter. We’re hopeful that Cohen’s offensive strategies will help Lawrence elevate his game. The clock is ticking for him to secure a spot among the top-tier fantasy quarterbacks without needing to break the record.

As for newcomer Williams, his early indicators haven’t been great. It’s possible he’s not quite living up to expectations. However, new head coach Ben Johnson might change the narrative this year. Johnson has shown he can handle the Lions’ offense well when led by someone like Jared Goff. If Williams can stay healthy, his numbers should see an uptick this season.

Justin Fields could rise as a fantasy star, even if his team isn’t winning regularly. His rushing skills are on par with the best rushing quarterbacks; however, his passing isn’t quite there yet. It’s not that Anthony Richardson is ineffective, but Fields needs a strong offensive line and a top-notch receiver to really support him. The silver lining? He currently lacks serious competition, so he should maintain his starting role even if things get tough.
