RNC chair: Democrats ‘haven’t learned anything’ from 2024

RNC chair: Democrats 'learned absolutely nothing' from 2024

RNC Chair Critiques Democrats Post-2024 Elections

Michael Whatley, the chair of the Republican National Committee, expressed his thoughts on Friday morning, stating that Democrats “have learned nothing” following significant losses in the 2024 election cycle.

“It seems like Democrats are doubling down on the same failed agenda they ran with,” Whatley shared during an interview with Fox Business. He criticized their stance on issues like open borders, inflation spending, and perceived weaknesses of American political parties.

He went on to note, “Their leaders are shifting further left, distancing themselves even more from Main Street America.”

As the Democrats aim to regain a foothold during President Trump’s second term, they face challenges in gathering votes and rejecting presidential policies, all while holding a minority in both the House and Senate.

A recent poll from Quinnipiac University revealed that as of mid-July, only 19% of Americans approved of how Congressional Democrats were performing, with 72% disapproving. Roughly 10% registered no opinion.

Among Democrats specifically, just 39% approved of their lawmakers’ performance, while 52% disapproved, according to the same poll. About 9% of respondents had no opinion.

Whatley, who recently entered the North Carolina Senate race in late July, expressed confidence in Republicans, describing them as “great.”

“We’re seeing economic growth, safer borders, and America regaining its respect on the global stage,” he added. Whatley emphasized that President Trump has kept his campaign promises and that Republican leaders in Congress are focused on securing borders, ensuring favorable voting for Trump’s tax cuts, and supporting military personnel and veterans.

This commentary comes as Democrats across the nation gear up to combat GOP rezoning efforts in anticipation of the 2026 midterm elections.
