Ambassador Huckabee Criticizes UK PM’s Condemnation of Israel’s Actions in Gaza
Ambassador Mike Huckabee has voiced strong criticism regarding the British Prime Minister’s remarks about the Israeli military actions in Gaza. He drew historical parallels, questioning the expectations placed on Israel today compared to the situation during World War II with Nazi Germany.
“Is it really reasonable for Israel to just surrender to Hamas? Should they feed Hamas while their own hostages are suffering?” Huckabee, who serves as President Trump’s ambassador to Israel, pondered on social media.
“Did the UK surrender to the Nazis and drop supplies for them? I mean, have you ever looked into what happened in Dresden?” he continued. “If things had gone differently, you’d be speaking German now!”
In the meantime, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security minister recently approved a plan aimed at taking complete control of Gaza City, reacting to criticisms from UK officials.
“This kind of measure won’t help to resolve the conflict or bring back hostages. It’s only going to lead to more violence,” said Hoshi, who called for a ceasefire amid a growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and condemned the harsh conditions hostages are facing as shown in footage released by Hamas.
The British Prime Minister expressed that escalating military actions in Gaza is misguided, urging a reconsideration of strategy soon.
“How much humanitarian aid has Starmer and the UK actually sent to Gaza?” Huckabee responded, referencing Netanyahu’s comments about 2 million tons of aid already having been sent, which, he argued, even reached some hostages.
“Maybe the British PM should focus on engaging with the Arab League, where Hamas has indicated they should disarm and release all hostages,” Huckabee suggested.
This situation unfolds against a backdrop of the British Prime Minister’s upcoming proposal to recognize a Palestinian state unless Netanyahu’s administration stops its prolonged conflict with Hamas and commits to serious peace negotiations.
French President Emmanuel Macron had also acknowledged the Palestinian state during the recent UN General Assembly, underlining international support for recognition efforts.
Israel faces increasing backlash from various global leaders, especially as distressing images and videos emerge from Gaza, showing desperate Palestinians attempting to steal food supplies to survive.
Reports indicate that nearly 90% of UN aid trucks have been unable to deliver their cargo due to being looted by armed groups. Out of at least 2,604 aid trucks sent to conflict zones, only 295 managed to reach their destinations, highlighting significant challenges in the aid distribution process.
While Netanyahu and Huckabee blame Hamas for the looting, the United Nations has not assigned accountability to any particular group.
