Epstein Files Controversy Fails to Diminish Trump’s Support
There were many on the left who hoped that the fallout from Jeffrey Epstein’s documents would impact President Donald Trump’s backing. However, analysts from CNN suggest that there is no evidence to support this notion.
Polling expert Harry Enten reviewed recent statistics, confirming to Kate Bolduan that interest in the Epstein situation has significantly waned among the public, and Trump’s support has remained largely intact.
“Donald Trump possesses some of the most remarkable political instincts I’ve encountered. You can see that clearly in this issue,” remarked Enten.
Bolduan, clearly disheartened, absorbed the implications of Enten’s analysis.
“It’s striking how quickly he’s become somewhat of a non-issue,” Enten added.
Bolduan responded, “It’s hard to wrap my head around how much this story has shifted in just three weeks.”
According to Enten, the term “Epstein” barely registers anymore in Google search when paired with “Trump,” reflecting an 89% drop from just weeks prior.
“At this point, Americans are losing interest in this story,” he stated.
Enten noted that while Trump’s approval dipped by 1 percentage point from July to August, he is currently enjoying a 7-point advantage compared to his approval ratings during the same period of his first term.
“He’s now operating in a completely different political landscape,” Enten explained, highlighting the president’s popularity among Republicans, which is nearly 90%, marking a record high.
“There was indeed a surge of interest in this story in the past, but ultimately, even those who were engaged didn’t view it as particularly significant,” he concluded.
Bolduan also observed that Congressional Democrats’ focus on this issue seemed “out of touch” with mainstream American sentiment.
“It’s safe to say that Trump’s political instincts are unmatched,” she reflected, reiterating that the issue is not a priority for many.
“If you believe it will become a problem, then it probably will,” Bolduan added, hinting at her frustrations with the situation.
News anchor shows clear distress as analyst comments that anger over Epstein files hasn’t impacted Trump.
