Lindsey Granger appointed as co-host of morning show "Rising"

WASHINGTON, DC (August 12, 2025) – The Hill, a prominent digital platform for nonpartisan political news, has announced that Lindsay Granger has been appointed as the co-host for its flagship morning show, Rising, alongside Robbie Thauve. This show will also be airing locally on the Nexstar media television station for DCNewsnow, marking its debut on broadcast television.

Rising will be live from 9am to 10am ET, focusing on politics and culture. The program aims to provide vibrant discussions about current events, along with insights and opinions that are often ahead of trends. Granger previously worked as a contributor for News Nation and has been writing for Bustle, a website that dives into cultural and political issues.

“Lindsay brings a unique perspective that’s needed in today’s market, and we’re thrilled to have her join us,” said Bill Summon, senior vice president of content at The Hill. “Her enthusiasm for the country and her experience in discussing a broad range of topics make her a valuable addition to our show. We’re eager to see how this new duo engages with the local audience on DCNewsnow.”

Granger co-owns Gilded Focus Productions, specializing in scripted television, documentaries, and live events. The Hill has licensed her company’s non-scripted travel series, “World of Travel,” which will debut in October 2025 and explore various cultures and political landscapes globally.

“Joining News Nation last year and now stepping up as co-host feels like the perfect fit for me at this moment,” Granger remarked. “This is a place where deeper discussions are encouraged. I’m excited to bring my voice as a journalist and political analyst to a team that values nuance and impactful storytelling. It’s truly an honor to share my experiences and insights on a platform that appreciates both journalistic rigor and creative vision.”

Before her time with News Nation, Granger was a guest host on ABC’s The View during its 25th season and ran a nationally syndicated talk show called “Daily Blast Live.” She also served as a national correspondent for various outlets and hosted segments for publications like People and Time Magazine Online.

Between 2009 and 2014, she worked as a field producer on several MSNBC programs, including Andrea Mitchell Reports and Melissa Harris-Perry. She contributed to significant NBC News events, such as the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in 2012.

A TEDX speaker and an International Radio and Television Association Fellowship recipient, Granger graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, earning a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, communications, and mass media.
