How Taylor Swift teased 'The Life of a Showgirl' album 'long before' its release

Taylor Swift has been consistently dropping hints, or “Easter Eggs,” related to her project “Showgirl’s Life.”

Many fans believe the 35-year-old pop icon is teasing her forthcoming album titled “Age 2019.”

Ever since Swift revealed the title of her 12th album during a preview for Wednesday’s “New Heights” episode, she’s been scavenging for clues from earlier in her career.

In 2022, she was seen donning a showgirl costume in her “Bejeweled” music video, which fans are now revisiting.

Specifically, in that video, she sat atop a clock hand pointing to 12, leading some fans to speculate about the album’s release timing, set for 12:12 AM on August 12th.

However, others have voiced some skepticism, suggesting that the “Bejeweled” song belonged to an album called “Midnight,” which has them pondering its connections.

Swift mentioned being “back in the office” in an Instagram video from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, just shy of two years after the “Bejeweled” video’s release.

She directed attention to Section A12, connecting it to the upcoming date of August 12th.

Moreover, during a performance, she sported her orange “lovers” bodysuit, mixed with elements from the “1989” set.

Fans noted her appearance in an all-orange outfit at her tourism stops, particularly the twelfth show of the European leg in July 2024, where she dazzled with 11 different costumes.

A recent post highlighted references about “Showgirl Dressing Room Routines” from Swift’s Eras Tour Book, also showcasing her green and orange outfits.

One fan remarked, “This wasn’t a coincidence,” reinforcing the idea that Swift’s choices are intentional.

Her knack for hinting at future projects through obscure signs is well-documented, as discussed on “Tonight’s Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” back in 2021.

“We lost control,” she remarked about the tradition of weaving such cues into her work.

Sitting with her fans, she invites them deeper into her creative world, saying, “If you want to go down the rabbit hole with us, come along.” Her enthusiasm is palpable, and the excitement seems mutual.

The news about her album aligns closely with her recent acquisition of her master recordings, adding another layer to her evolving narrative in the music industry.
