WWE referee Charles Robinson shared on social media Wednesday that he had a rough night, posting a photo of himself in a hospital bed along with a video of his treatment.
In his Instagram post, he humorously recounted, “A great way to get started in the morning. I got a bit at 2am and a bat. It’s a bat! ER and 6 shots in four hours.” Fans quickly flooded the comments with messages of support.
Robinson, who began his career in professional wrestling with World Championship Wrestling in 1997, is known for his blonde hair and has earned nicknames like “Little Nature Boy.” It’s been quite a challenging month for him. Back in June, he made headlines during WWE’s Night of Champions when Seth Rollins was about to cash in his Money in the Bank contract but was unexpectedly taken down by John Cena, causing Robinson to take a tumble.
Reflecting on that moment, Robinson shared, “I’m running as hard as I can… This was cash-in so I’m running about 80%. I’m not giving it all. It’s an interesting walk. I’m trying to hold back. Thank God.” He described the disorienting experience, noting, “I thought it was the guy on the camera. Then, bam! I’m in the air!”
He was also involved in a recent match between Gunther and Goldberg, where he ended up with cracked ribs after taking a spear from Goldberg. It’s been a whirlwind of experiences for him lately, to say the least.
As for Robinson’s future, especially with the upcoming “Friday Night Smackdown” in Boston, there’s still uncertainty about how this incident might affect him. Life in the ring is never predictable, that’s for sure.
