Sandra Hall, an 80-year-old former member of the iconic singing group The Platters, has been missing for four days following her arrival at a subway station in Brooklyn.
As reported by the NYPD and her family, she was last seen Friday around 4 PM at the Atlantic Avenue subway station near Barclays Center and Atlantic Terminal Mall.
“Sandra means so much to us. She’s not just our mother; she’s a vibrant, joyful person who used to bring happiness to so many as a performer,” her daughter, Star Dasilva, expressed.
“We just want her to come home safe.”
According to family members, Hall, who resides in Flatbush, suffers from dementia, which can cause her to become disoriented.
There are reports that she may have been spotted in the Bronx.
“I’m going to check into that because she took two trains heading Uptown,” her daughter noted on Facebook. “We’ve reached out to local precincts and are now just waiting for updates. Someone mentioned they might have seen her, so I’m hopeful.”
Police described Hall as approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall. At the time she disappeared, she was wearing gray pants, white sneakers, and a pink shirt layered over a white long-sleeve shirt.
The Platters debuted in 1952 and produced numerous hits throughout the following decade, including “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” “Only You,” and “The Great Pretender.”
Hall joined the group in 1965, using the stage name Sandra Dawn, and participated in a brief resurgence of the band over the next couple of years.
The Platters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, though the group has seen many lineup changes over the years.
The last surviving former member passed away in 2012 at the age of 83.
