Taco Bell Unveils New Baja Midnight Flavor

After two decades, Taco Bell is introducing a permanent addition to its famous Baja Blast lineup.

The new Baja Midnight flavor offers a “surprising” purple twist on the classic tropical lime drink, incorporating passion fruit notes fans might enjoy.

This is the first fresh Mountain Dew Baja Blast flavor in many years, set to be available nationwide starting August 14th.

According to Taco Bell’s Chief Marketing Director, Taylor Montgomery, “Baja Blast continually encourages creativity, defies expectations, and stands as a key element of the Taco Bell experience.”

He added, “Our fans have made it an icon. They’re the driving force behind this expansion.”

The drink will be available in two options: Mountain Dew Baja Midnight and the Mountain Dew Baja Midnight Freeze, both crafted to complement Taco Bell’s menu offerings.

Montgomery shared that the new flavor was developed to honor the legacy of the original Baja Blast. “We rigorously tested Baja Midnight to ensure its passion fruit flavor enhances the beloved spicy and crunchy profiles fans have come to expect from Taco Bell,” he explained.

Baja Midnight will remain a permanent choice, while the Freeze version will only be offered for a limited time.

To celebrate the release, Taco Bell members can enjoy a Medium Mountain Dew Baja Midnight for free with a purchase over $5 through the app on August 15th, while supplies last.

The original Mountain Dew Baja Blast was launched in test markets in 2004 and quickly gained a cult following within the chain.

Pricing starts at $2.49 for a small soda, $2.79 for medium, and $2.99 for large. The Freeze version typically costs $3.79, escalating to $3.99 for a large size.
