New Biblical Attractions in Pigeon Forge and Branson
Families visiting Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and Branson, Missouri, now have the chance to take an immersive time travel journey—from the Garden of Eden to the time of Christ—thanks to new attractions that feature 5D virtual reality experiences. This innovative exhibition debuted in Pigeon Forge in June and is set to open its second location in Branson soon. Visitors, both young and old, can explore biblical narratives, moving through various significant periods like Noah’s era and experiencing resurrection themes.
The cutting-edge 5D experiences utilize effects that engage multiple senses, including vibrations, synchronized chair movements, and simulated wind bursts.
Genesis Answers, known for its life-size Noah’s Ark replica in Williamstown, Kentucky, and the Ark Encounter in Petersburg, has created a unique exploration opportunity combining entertainment and education.
In addition to the main attractions, the Pigeon Forge site houses a planetarium while the Branson venue includes theaters for live productions and projection mapping.
Ben Wilt, the chief digital officer of Genesis Answers, shared with Crosswalk that the initiative aims to establish the Bible as a core historical reference. He described the experience as akin to what guests might expect at a large-scale theme park.
“It’s more than just a ride,” Wilt explained. “There’s a detailed pre-show element with animatronics designed to enhance the experience. We wanted it to resonate with visitors and draw from Disney’s approach.”
The Ark Encounter provides a similar immersive experience, and the Creation Museum offers planetarium shows. Both have inspired Genesis Answers to consider expanding their offerings into different markets.
“We have always envisioned creating something in Pigeon Forge and the Branson area. It’s a popular vacation spot, and now we have the opportunity to make that happen,” Wilt noted.
The planetarium show in Pigeon Forge showcases the vastness of the universe, prompting a sense of awe regarding creation.
“It highlights the grandeur of God’s creation, reminding us that we’re central to it all,” Wilt remarked.
He expressed hope that visitors leave with a richer understanding of the Bible’s truth. Each venue also offers dining options and gift shops.
“While they’re on vacation and enjoying the attractions, we aim to communicate a powerful message. I think this will have a meaningful impact,” Wilt said. “… these experiences should leave a lasting impression about the authority and relevance of the Bible in our lives.”
