Najee Harris of the Chargers is back to practice after an eye injury from fireworks.

Najee Harris is recovering well after a troubling incident during a July 4th celebration, which led to a fireworks-related injury. Reports indicate that he suffered what is described as a “superficial eye injury” amid the chaos of the event.

It seems several attendees were hurt, but Harris is expected to be ready for the upcoming NFL season. The details shared were somewhat vague, but it’s clear that his team, the Los Angeles Chargers, is optimistic about his recovery.

This was actually the first time Harris returned to training after the injury. He was seen working alongside his trainer. Although the Chargers haven’t released extensive details about the injury, that’s often standard during training camp and offseason practices.

Coach Jim Harbaugh mentioned there’s a possibility of Harris being back on the field soon.

Additionally, Harris recently signed a one-year deal for $5.25 million with the Chargers. He’s on the roster with fellow backs like Hassan Haskins, Kimani Vidal, Jarrett Patterson, and rookie O’Malion Hampton.

As a bit of context, Najee Harris was picked in the first round of the 2021 draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and has started every game since joining the league. Over 68 games, he has compiled 4,312 rushing yards and found the end zone 28 times.

During the previous season, the Chargers totaled 1,882 rushing yards, averaging 110.7 yards per game. JK Dobbins led the team with 905 yards, accompanied by Gus Edwards with 365 yards, while Vidal and Haskins contributed modestly with 155 and 89 yards, respectively.
