Taylor Swift shares touching experience that made her and Travis Kelce 'cry'

Taylor Swift’s Emotional Revelation on Podcast

Taylor Swift was visibly emotional while discussing a significant milestone—gaining ownership of her music masters—during an appearance on Kelsey’s “New Heights” podcast. As she fought back tears, she recounted the moment she learned she could reclaim her work.

In the podcast episode aired on Wednesday, Swift shared that she often didn’t think about owning her music. However, the conversation took a poignant turn when she began talking to her mother, Andrea, about how she connected with Shamrock Capital, the firm whose rights were linked to her music through her brother, Austin Swift.

“Sorry, this is tough for me,” she said, visibly emotional. “They explained to Shamrock Capital what this meant for me.”

Swift recounted being with Kelsey when she received the life-changing news from her mother, stating, “I got a call from my mom saying, ‘We got your music.’ I fell to the floor in shock,” she remembered. Kelsey was playing video games at the time and immediately jumped to attention.

“He put down his headset and thought something was wrong,” she said. “I told him, ‘I got the music back,’ and we both started getting excited.”

“Honestly, I felt like I had no strength left. This is a game-changer for my life,” Swift added, reflecting on the moment.

Kelsey also admitted that he couldn’t help but cry upon hearing the news. “I started tearing up too, you know, it really hit home,” he confessed.

Swift expressed disbelief about the whole situation, saying, “I still can’t believe it. This will shape the rest of my life. I think about it daily, but it feels more like a blessing than a burden.”

According to Billboard, Swift’s ownership comes at a considerable price, reportedly around $360 million to Shamrock Capital, which aligns with what private equity firms paid in past years for such rights.

In a heartfelt message on her website, Swift shared her journey of waiting two decades to reclaim her music. “After twenty years of hoping, I had stopped believing it could happen,” she wrote. “But now that it’s real, I find myself overwhelmed with joy at unexpected moments. It’s truly a dream come true.”

“All the music I’ve ever made… belongs to me now,” she concluded, celebrating this pivotal moment in her career.
