Taylor Swift’s recent appearance on the widely talked-about New Heights podcast was quite the event, featuring everything from playful bread jokes to affectionate moments with her boyfriend, co-host, and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce.
The couple, who had a somewhat awkward first date in the summer of 2023, seemed completely absorbed in one another during their two-hour chat with Travis’s brother. They shared numerous kisses and looked deeply into each other’s eyes.
This came right after Travis, a three-time Super Bowl champion, joked, “It’s so hot to say big words.” It was an interesting exchange, showcasing their chemistry.
Swift, a 14-time Grammy winner, also took the opportunity to announce that her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, will drop on October 3. It was one of her most expressive interviews yet, filled with public displays of affection towards Travis, who is expected to enter the Hall of Fame.
Travis tenderly kissed Swift on the head while she got emotional talking about reclaiming her music catalog. Swift shared how she was brought to tears after a call from her mother, Andrea, informing her that she had gotten back her music rights.
“I opened the door and he was playing a video game… And then I definitely started crying – I felt so overwhelmed,” Swift recalled. She mentioned collapsing to the floor from the emotional weight of the moment.
“I’ve started crying too, you know, I’m Creer,” Travis replied, as they both expressed their support for one another personally and in their careers.
Earlier this May, Swift announced that she successfully bought back her music catalog, which was a significant milestone for her. Throughout their relationship, she has also been there to support Travis at his games over the past two seasons.
During the podcast, Swift affectionately dubbed Travis as her “boyfriend,” referencing how he had previously tried to meet her during one of her concerts in 2023 and hadn’t succeeded.
Travis, meanwhile, continuously professed that he feels like “the luckiest man in the world.” Their conversation meandered through topics like their mutual love for sourdough bread and otters, with Kelce expressing gratitude for Swift helping him navigate her newfound fame.
He also credited her for embracing his world, noting her efforts to understand football better. “I didn’t know what a first down was. I didn’t know what the chains were. I didn’t know what a tight end was,” Swift joked, laughing. “But I fell in love with it. I was hooked.”
