Incident Involving DOJ Employee Results in Firing

A recent incident in Washington, D.C., has led to the firing of a Department of Justice (DOJ) employee after he threw a Subway sandwich at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent. Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed on Thursday that Sean Charles Dunn, whose name appeared in court documents, is no longer with the DOJ.

While being processed by the Metropolitan Police Department, Dunn reportedly admitted, “I did it. I threw a sandwich,” as noted by the investigating detective.

Dunn was employed in the DOJ’s criminal division, specifically within the international affairs section.

In a post on social media, Bondi expressed her surprise at the employee’s actions. “I just learned that this defendant worked at the Department of Justice — NO LONGER,” she stated. She characterized the incident as indicative of the “Deep State” problems they’ve faced while trying to reform the DOJ. She added, “You will NOT work in this administration while disrespecting our government and law enforcement.”

A video shared by FBI Director Kash Patel showed Dunn, described as agitated and wearing a pink polo and light shorts, conversing with agents on the sidewalk while holding a wrapped Subway sandwich. He then threw the sandwich at an officer’s chest before fleeing the scene, with several officers in pursuit.

The altercation took place on Sunday night in the Northwest area of Washington, where Dunn was ultimately apprehended after trying to escape the situation.
