Sam Asgari, Britney Spears’ ex-husband, directed a pointed remark toward Kevin Federline by calling him a “professional father.”
In videos shared on Saturday by TMZ, a photographer asked Asgari about Federline’s upcoming book.
His response? “Well, he was a professional father,” he said, while strolling outside a popular West Hollywood spot called The Upbey.
Federline, who was married to Spears from 2004 to 2007, has a memoir titled “I Thought You Knew” set to be released soon.
Previously, the former backup dancer (he shares sons Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden James, 18, with Spears) announced that his book includes personal insights into their “very publicized marriage.”
“This book is very intimate and transparent,” Federline noted in a statement. “I achieved my greatest dreams, faced heartbreak, and navigated through constant ridiculousness.”
The memoir is scheduled to hit shelves on October 21st.
After their marriage ended, Federline, now 47, gained custody of the boys, collecting $20,000 a month in child support from Spears until November 2024.
After his marriage with Spears, Federline wed Victory Aprince and has two daughters with her. He also has two grown children from a previous relationship.
Spears, notably, had a brief marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander in 2004, though that was quickly annulled. Following her split from Federline, she began dating Asgari after they worked together on the “Slumber Party” music video.
In May 2021, following their engagement, Spears and Asgari faced the heartbreak of a miscarriage. They expressed their deep sadness in a joint statement, admitting they may have shared the news too soon.
Despite the challenges, Asgari has spoken positively about his ex-wife, wishing her well even after their divorce in 2024.
Having married in a lavish ceremony in June 2022, their relationship ultimately ended, but Asgari hinted that he still holds fondness for Spears. “I think being there for each other is the key,” he shared.
