Russia's attacks on Kharkiv result in three deaths and 17 injuries, according to Ukraine.

Ukrainian officials reported that a recent Russian airstrike resulted in the deaths of three people, including infants, and left 17 others injured in Kharkiv, the country’s second-largest city.

The attack, which involved drones, claimed the life of a two-year-old boy early on Monday, following a previous missile strike the night before.

The number of injured individuals is still rising, according to Synehubov.

In a Telegram update, Mayor Ihol Telekov confirmed that two more casualties and a total of 17 injuries from both attacks included six children aged from six to 17.

Telekov mentioned the survival of a woman who had been trapped under rubble, expressing hope for her recovery.

Located near the Russian border, Kharkiv has faced frequent assaults from Russian drones and missiles since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022.

Sinhuvov noted that earlier missile strikes damaged about 1,000 windows, with Ukrainian emergency services reporting the need for civilian evacuations.

Witnesses reported seeing residents in the streets as rescuers assessed damage to the affected residential building.

Authorities indicated that a separate Russian strike in the nearby Smee area caused additional injuries and inflicted damage on numerous homes and educational facilities.

Ole Hlikholov, the regional head, stated on Telegram that the enemy had been systematically targeting civilian infrastructure in Smee.

As of now, there hasn’t been any independent verification regarding the specific weapons Russia used in these strikes.

There have been no immediate responses from Moscow. While both sides claim they do not target civilians, the conflict has resulted in thousands of casualties, predominantly among Ukrainians.

In related news, President Donald Trump recently met with President Vladimir Putin for discussions aimed at reaching a resolution to the ongoing conflict, suggesting that Ukraine consider negotiation with Russia.
