Arrest of Illegal Immigrant with Criminal Background in Lee County, Florida
An individual without legal status and a significant criminal background was taken into custody on Wednesday in Lee County, Florida.
The suspect is known as Alvarez Dominges, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, which reported that he has a history involving multiple charges related to battery, attempted murder, and drug offenses.
The agency referred to him as “a violently active drug dealer in the United States.”
During a routine traffic stop, K-9 units detected drugs in his vehicle, leading to the discovery of 96 grams of cocaine concealed in the center console.
“Alvarez Dominges was arrested for trafficking cocaine. Notably, he is not a citizen and has been previously deported, with current ICE custody,” the agency stated.
Footage shows officers with the K-9 approaching the suspect as he exited his vehicle. They revealed what appeared to be narcotics wrapped in a red towel before handcuffing him.
This incident occurs amid efforts by the Trump administration to detain unauthorized foreign nationals linked to crime and violence in American communities.
In March, ICE apprehended another illegal immigrant convicted of drug trafficking in Philadelphia, with images showing the woman in distress during her arrest.
Meanwhile, reports from late July highlighted ongoing arrests by ICE of individuals described by the Department of Homeland Security as serious offenders. This included cases involving child sexual abuse, drug trafficking, and more.
On the same day as Dominges’ arrest, members of the MS-13 gang received life sentences for crimes, including the murder of a Maryland mother of five.
