David Justice Reflects on Past with Halle Berry

Former MLB player David Justice recently attended the Harold and Carol Pump Foundation’s 25th Anniversary Celebrity Dinner in Los Angeles with his wife, Rebecca Villalobos. During the event, he addressed his earlier remarks about Halle Berry, particularly her desire to be a “mother” when they first married.

In an interview, Justice said, “This has been my wife for 25 years. Look at my wife. She can cook and knows how to clean.” He mentioned that while he has three children and a grandchild, he didn’t want to comment on anyone else’s situation. He noted, “So I have nothing else to say about anyone else’s woman except my woman.”

Justice reflected on his marriage to Berry, which began in 1993 and ended in divorce in 1997. He admitted that his past experiences shaped his understanding of relationships. “My knowledge and my understanding, my wisdom regarding relationships was not vast because I was honestly only in one relationship before her,” he stated. He was influenced by his upbringing, thinking that a wife should handle domestic responsibilities and that having children required certain expectations.

As for Berry, she responded to his comments with a subtle Instagram post that read, “Whoo…! Cooking, cleaning, mother,” accompanied by a photo with her husband, Van Hunt.

During his career, Justice earned his first All-Star selection in 1993 and repeated the honor in 1994 before a players’ strike interrupted the season. After his time with the Atlanta Braves, he played for the Cleveland Indians and was later traded to the Yankees.

Justice also expressed a sentiment that, had they sought therapy together, their relationship might have turned out differently. It’s a complex reflection on love, expectations, and the lessons learned from past experiences.
