Bachelor in Paradise Updates: Are Shaun and Alicia Still Together?
During Episode 8 of Season 10, fans were surprised as two couples exited the show, but only one pair made the choice to leave voluntarily at the Rose Ceremony. The lingering question is, “Are Shaun and Alicia still together?”
Though they didn’t start off as a couple, 28-year-old Shaun Kaufman and 30-year-old Alicia Gupta were a stable presence on the beach for quite some time. If Shaun hadn’t adopted a political strategy in Episode 8, things might have been different for them. Seconds before host Jesse Palmer announced their elimination, they opted to self-exclude instead.
“Shaun and I entered Paradise seeking love. We had no clue what else to expect. We were not going to compromise our character and integrity. However, we wanted to leave together on our terms,” Alicia shared. “We’re taking something much more valuable than money from this experience. We plan to continue our relationship back in Tampa, maybe with a bucket of popcorn to watch how this unfolds.” So, are Shaun and Alicia still together?
Insights from Post-Paradise Conversations
In a podcast episode featuring Leslie Fima from Bachelor Happy Hour, hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt discussed their relationships, reminding listeners that they only remain friends. Meanwhile, Shaun made an appearance on the same podcast, which provided some insights and spoilers about his, Alicia’s, and other contestants’ journeys.
In his post-Paradise interview, Shaun covered various topics, including his connection with Jill Chin, some moments he had with April Kirkwood, and, of course, his relationship with Alicia. “When we were sent home, I felt a rush of excitement. Being back in Tampa with her was a bigger deal than the exit itself,” Shaun recounted. “It’s interesting to look back; we shared every night together. Those meaningful moments, like when we went on mini-dates, they really deepened our bond. Even though you didn’t see much of it, I was eager to return and spend more time with her.”
“I found someone incredible, and I couldn’t wait to reunite,” he added. Although as Shaun tried to give an update about his current relationship, Joe chimed in, suggesting that it was a tricky topic and, well, maybe it was best left unsaid. What does that mean?
While Leslie and Gary provided their updates on life post-Paradise, it seemed like the production was keen on keeping the relationship statuses of contestants under wraps for future episodes or possibly a reunion show.
For now, fans are left speculating about the status of Shaun and Alicia thanks to hints dropped by reality Steve and the contestants on social media.
As for the comments Alicia made during the podcast, Shaun felt they might have been misinterpreted or hurtful. Reports emerged that he even unlinked both her and their past photos from his Instagram. However, when Alicia was asked about their relationship on the show, she emphasized that nothing negative happened. “We had a great dynamic and enjoyed our time together,” she insisted. “Sure, we experienced some highs and lows, but we left on great terms.” Still, it seems there could be some unresolved feelings.
In a twist, on August 15, reports surfaced that Shaun and Alicia had split. Shortly after, Alicia posted a video hinting at their breakup.
While it appears Shaun and Alicia are no longer together, fans should stay tuned for more updates as Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise continues.
