Adam Schiff Launches Legal Defense Fund Amid Federal Investigation

Adam Schiff has recently set up a legal defense fund at a time when he is under federal investigation for alleged mortgage fraud.

A spokesperson for Schiff commented that Donald Trump and his allies are exploiting the justice system to continue their attacks on him.

According to reports, Schiff’s legal defense fund, officially named the “Senator Schiff Legal Defense Fund,” was registered with the IRS just last Thursday. This fund aims to support him against what he describes as baseless accusations while he continues his political work.

There’s a long-standing rivalry between Schiff and Trump, rooted in the former president’s first term. Schiff notably oversaw the 2020 impeachment trial against Trump, focusing on the Russia interference claims dating back to the 2016 election.

As a prominent figure in the discussions around the alleged Russian conspiracy, Schiff has always maintained that no one is above the law. He believes that accountability should be universal, regardless of political status.

Currently, Schiff is facing scrutiny related to accusations of mortgage fraud, with reports suggesting he improperly benefitted from sub-market profit margins by misrepresenting his primary residences.
