Cleveland Browns’ Miles Garrett Dismisses Questions on Speeding Tickets
Miles Garrett, a prominent player for the Cleveland Browns, had a tense interaction with reporters following practice on Wednesday, as he declined to discuss his recent speeding tickets.
This month, Strongsville, Ohio, cited Garrett for driving 100 mph in a 60 mph zone, marking his eighth speeding offense since joining the Browns in 2017.
Garrett made it clear he wasn’t willing to talk about the ticket. “I want to be more honest about football and this team than being off the field,” he stated. Despite persistent inquiries from the media, he emphasized, “People want to know a lot, but I’m trying to keep my personal life personal… I want to focus as much as I can on this team.”
In response to ongoing questions, he added, “I can focus on this team rather than this headline trying to get out of these questions you’re asking. Perhaps you should ask something else.”
Coach’s Disappointment
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski expressed his disappointment regarding Garrett’s recent actions, suggesting, “He needs to slow down for his own safety and for others’ safety.”
Interestingly, Garrett’s teammate, rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders, faced similar issues this past June. He was ticketed for speeding multiple times, including once for going 91 mph in a 65 mph zone. Sanders acknowledged his mistakes during a charity event a few weeks later, saying, “I personally made some wrong choices and I can own them. I’ve learned.”
It’s clear that while Garrett chooses to keep his personal matters to himself, his teammate is open about facing the consequences of his actions. This contrast highlights different approaches among players, making the dynamics within the team even more intriguing.
