Morgan Wallen Opts Out of Grammy Submission for Latest Album
Morgan Wallen has decided not to submit his popular country album for the upcoming Grammy Awards, as confirmed by sources. Details surrounding this choice remain unclear, as the singer’s representatives didn’t elaborate further.
At 32, Wallen burst onto the country music scene with his debut album “If I Know Me” in 2018. Recently, he garnered his first Grammy nomination in 2025 for his collaboration with Post Malone on a track titled “I Have Help.”
The artist, known for hits like “Wasted On You,” has released his fourth studio album, “I’m The Problem,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts earlier this year. This achievement has added to his impressive record as one of the top-ranked country artists.
Moreover, Wallen’s catalogue continues to make waves, with 36 tracks making it onto the Billboard Hot 100. This makes him the only artist to occupy every position in the top 10 of the Hot Country Songs chart.
After launching this latest project, Wallen embarked on a North American Stadium Tour that featured guests like Brooks & Dunn and Thomas Rhett. However, the reasons for not submitting his album for Grammy consideration are still unknown.
The choice might be influenced by the controversies the singer faced in the past. In early 2021, a video surfaced of Wallen using a racial slur, which led to significant backlash from fans and the music industry alike. He quickly issued an apology, but the incident marked a tumultuous period in his career, affecting his participation in awards shows and events.
The Academy of Country Music even announced his ban from the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards following the scandal, and he was not invited to numerous prestigious ceremonies despite multiple nominations.
Wallen also faced restrictions from his record label and was removed from platforms like iHeartRadio. Despite his previous success, the ongoing consequences of that incident might be influencing his current decisions.
As the situation evolves, the Recording Academy has yet to provide any insight into Wallen’s choice.
