Celebrated 'Noah' Set to Hit Theaters for Its 30th Anniversary

Sight & Sound Marks 30th Anniversary of Noah with Special Theatrical Release

Sight & Sound is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its popular production, Noah, by bringing it back to theaters for a special week. This initiative, in partnership with Fathom Entertainment, allows fans to experience this epic stage production on the big screen, especially those who may not have had the chance to attend a live performance of the show before.

Located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Branson, Missouri, Sight & Sound Theaters is well-known for its Broadway-style, Christian-themed productions. The live recording of Noah – Live! was captured at the Lancaster venue.

Matt Neff, CEO of Sight & Sound, reflected that when Noah first premiered, it transformed their ministry. He said, “This production broke all the rules of traditional theatre and guided us in discovering our mission to bring Bible stories to the stage. I’m thankful for its enduring impact today, inspiring audiences through Noah – Live! across the United States.”

Ryan Miller from Sight & Sound mentioned that productions like Noah from the ’90s have paved the way for current musicals. He explained that at the time, they weren’t yet recognized as the Biblical Story Theatre. “We were exploring something new and grand in storytelling,” he shared.

Miller is also the lead producer for the 2025 version of Noah, set to take place this year in Lancaster. He noted how exciting it is to see people who enjoyed the show in their youth now bringing their own children.

The narrative highlights Noah’s steadfast faith as he undertakes the monumental task of building the ark and showcases God’s redemptive power, according to Miller.

This is the sixth collaboration between Sight & Sound and Fathom. Miller commented, “Our storytelling techniques have advanced significantly since the ’90s. This time around, we aimed to enhance the spectator experience while presenting the gospel in a contemporary context, honoring the show’s legacy.”
