Buc-Ee Partners with Texas A&M University
Buc-Ee, the beloved Texas brand famous for its country stores and gas stations, has announced a collaboration with Texas A&M University, a historic institution in the nation.
Founded in eastern Texas in 1982, Buc-Ee quickly gained popularity, especially in recent years as its unique offerings and customer service turned it into a tourist attraction. Known for its beaver mascots and exceptional cleanliness, it has drawn in crowds eager for a unique experience.
Now, rather than being confined to travel centers, Buc-Ee’s food and products will be available at multiple locations on the Texas A&M campus, specifically in College Station. This partnership includes not just one, but three spots on campus.
The stores will feature a wide range of products, including Beaver Nuggets, beef jerky, and various items branded with the Buc-Ee name, all aimed at enhancing campus life.
You might wonder, why only Texas A&M? Well, the connection runs deep. The founder, Arch “Beaver” Aplin III, has a longstanding association with the university, which makes this partnership feel particularly meaningful.
“As an Aggie, it’s really special to bring Buc-Ee to the heart of campus,” Aplin shared, expressing his enthusiasm for this initiative. After graduating from Texas A&M in 1980, Aplin has shown continuous support for the institution.
His commitment was evident when he donated $50 million to help establish a hospitality entrepreneurship program at the university. This was a significant step in creating the Aplin Center, where students can engage in hospitality, retail research, and food development. There’s even a development lab and a food tasting center linked to the program.
Buc-Ee has cemented its status in Americana, largely due to its dedication to customer satisfaction. Not everyone might know this, but each location emphasizes cleanliness, with dedicated staff continually maintaining restrooms. The company proudly claims to have “the cleanest toilets in America,” a title it has held for several years.
