Ellen DeGeneres recently shared a snapshot of her and Portia de Rossi’s idyllic life in the English countryside. It seems she has quite an attachment to the horse belonging to her partner, the actress known from “Arrested Development.”
In a clip posted on Instagram, De Rossi can be seen skillfully riding her horse through a meadow near their second residence. “Portia always envisions herself riding a horse through the quaint village nestled in the English countryside,” DeGeneres remarked playfully.
This update comes shortly after it was reported that the couple, aged 67 and 52 respectively, is looking to sell their impressive estate in the Cotswolds—an area they’ve come to embrace over the past year.
Andrew Burns, their listing agent from Sotheby’s International Realty in the UK, mentioned that the couple’s property is on sale for $10 million more than what they initially paid, thanks to several significant renovations. The sprawling 43-acre estate boasts multiple buildings connected by glass walkways, encompassing around 16,600 square feet of living space.
Interestingly, the pair spent only a month in this property before deciding to acquire a much larger one, providing more space for De Rossi’s horses. “When we made the decision to settle down here full-time, we knew Portia had to have her horse nearby,” DeGeneres noted. “We needed a property equipped with horse facilities and pastureland.”
They relocated to the UK last November, a move that was largely influenced by the political climate back home in the United States, given the outcome of the presidential election.
DeGeneres mentioned her appreciation for their new environment: “Everything here just feels different—the treatment of animals, the politeness of people. I genuinely love it.” She added, “It’s stunning here. The villages, the towns, the architecture—everything is captivating and offers a distinct lifestyle.”
In short, it seems they’ve found a lovely corner of the world to call home.
