Lauren Sanchez stands by Jeff Bezos during his mother's funeral

Lauren Sanchez was seen supporting her husband, Jeff Bezos, as they attended her mother Jacklyn’s funeral on Friday.

A photo captured the former journalist assisting the Amazon CEO during the memorial service, which took place at the Caballero Libero Westchester Funeral Home in West Miami. The couple exited their SUV hand in hand, making their way to the private ceremony.

Sanchez, at 55, wore a dark blue blazer paired with a black skirt and heels, her hair arranged in an intricate updo. Bezos opted for a classic black suit to match the somber occasion.

They tried to keep a low profile, donning sunglasses and somber expressions as they arrived.

Jacklyn Bezos, Jeff’s mother, passed away on August 14 after struggling with dementia, at the age of 78.

In an Instagram tribute, Jeff shared, “After a long fight with dementia, she passed away today, surrounded by those who loved her—children, grandchildren, and my father.” He expressed that he believed she felt their love in her final moments and added, “We were all fortunate to have her in our lives. I’ll cherish her memory forever.” He also noted how difficult her illness had been for her.

He concluded his heartfelt message with, “I love you, mom,” sharing a screenshot of her obituary along with photos of her and his stepfather, Miguel Bezos, to whom she was married in 1968.

It’s worth noting that Jacklyn was instrumental in helping Jeff launch Amazon back in 1995 with a significant investment of about $250,000.

Earlier that day, Lauren also shared the news of Jacklyn’s passing on her Instagram story, including a heartbroken emoji.

This funeral comes just two months after Jeff and Lauren exchanged vows in a lavish ceremony in Venice, Italy, attended by numerous celebrities including Tom Brady and Oprah Winfrey.
