WNBA Records Unprecedented Attendance

The 2025 WNBA regular season is nearing its conclusion, and before things wrap up, there’s some exciting news about fan engagement. The league recently revealed that attendance this season has reached a **record-breaking** figure.

As of Wednesday, “2,501,609 fans” attended WNBA games, marking the highest attendance ever recorded. This beats the last record set back in 2002.

Back then, the league had 16 teams, whereas it currently has 13 franchises. Interestingly, it took 256 games back in 2002 to hit that old milestone.

There’s no denying that the surge in women’s college basketball hype, driven by the rivalry between Kate Rinklerqua and Angel Reese, has positively influenced the WNBA, especially considering that both players were rookies last season.

Arenas have been frequently sold out for Clark and the Indiana Fever, showcasing the growing enthusiasm for the league.

Although Clark and Reese faced injuries earlier this season, ticket sales stayed strong, particularly with the arrival of rookie guard Page Bueker in Dallas.

The regular season will conclude in mid-September. The playoff landscape is shaping up, with teams like the Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, and Dallas Wings already eliminated from contention, even though they’ve secured playoff spots.

This year, the WNBA expanded its schedule from 40 to 44 games, aiming to enhance fan experience and engagement.
