Benny Slanco recently went viral on TikTok for a video featuring him indulging in some very pricey blueberries, thought to cost around $200.
In the footage shared on Friday, the music producer expressed his amazement over a beautifully packaged box containing these blueberries.
Slanco was visibly impressed by the size of what he called “the biggest ones” he’s encountered during his travels. “It’s like an AF-King meal,” he remarked after tasting them. “They’re F-Key Kings. They’re tasty,” he added.
“I think I mentioned the box was around $200,” he said, almost incredulously. “That’s insane.”
While he clearly enjoyed the blueberries, many users took to the comments section to criticize him, accusing him of being insensitive to those struggling to afford basic necessities in today’s economy.
“Why do rich people get all the PR packages?” one person lamented. “It feels tone-deaf to those who can’t afford everyday items,” they added.
Another comment read, “I really like him, but the rich really aren’t paying enough in taxes.” It’s interesting how quickly reactions appeared, especially when some realized they couldn’t even buy regular-priced fruits.
One user quipped, “Let me eat the cake.” Another remarked, “Here we see a wealthy person eating $200 blueberries. How is this real life?”
Despite the backlash, some fans came to his defense. “He’s rich and can afford those blueberries; people hate that he works hard for his success,” one supporter noted.
Another fan chimed in with a lighthearted comment, “Damn, I’m getting some fire blueberry content early. I just love how much he enjoys the food.”
Interestingly, Blanca’s fiancé, Selena Gomez, seems to have much more relatable tastes. He once surprised her with a bathtub filled with tortilla chips and queso dip for Valentine’s Day, showing a different side to his culinary interests. Additionally, he proposed at a Taco Bell picnic back in December 2024.
A representative for Blanco has yet to respond to requests for comment.
