White Stripes vocalist pens intense essay labeling Trump a 'fascist' who pretended to be shot.

Jack White, the frontman of the White Stripes, doesn’t hold back when it comes to his opinions about the White House and the Trump administration.

Recently, he shared a picture of a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump, describing the decor of the White House as “vulgar, golden leaves, flashy.”

White’s sharp critique of the interior design was linked to his broader commentary that Trump represents a low point in American history and owns nuclear standards. Yet, before wrapping up his thoughts, he offered a compliment.

“The losers driving to social media have been washed away,” he remarked, seemingly directing his thoughts toward critics.

The 50-year-old musician commended Zelensky, referring to him as the “real leader of the country in a black suit” in that same post.

In response, White House Communications Director Stephen Chan hit back at the musician, saying, “washed out, because the losers are posting drives on social media, so he clearly has plenty of time for his death career.” Chan defended the decor choices, suggesting that White didn’t appreciate the grandeur of the Oval Office.

From the events of January 6, 2021, to Trump’s alleged actions in 2024, White appears to have taken a critical stance regarding the former president, hinting at a longstanding frustration yet not fully detailing it.

While White claimed he was surprised by the White House’s response, he reiterated allegations against Trump, calling him a “conman” and even making comparisons to Nazis on multiple occasions.

He accused Trump of manipulating the government with “Gestapo” tactics and voiced concerns about the president’s remarks regarding various minority groups.

White’s comments also included claims about “Nazi-like gatherings” and a suggestion that others in the administration were masking fascism as patriotism.

The singer seems to carry a heavy load in his perceptions of the administration, asserting that Trump hasn’t made any meaningful improvements to America, calling the changes “smoke and mirrors.”

Interestingly, White stressed he is “not a Democrat” and referred to Trump supporters as “victims of the two-party system.”

Perhaps it’s worth noting that White himself participated in a Bernie Sanders rally during the 2020 Democratic primaries.

His remarks covered a wide spectrum of criticisms against Trump, lacking any room for praise for the two-time elected president. Complaints from musicians about Trump’s agenda have often echoed sentiments of white supremacy, and White positioned himself as a moral critic, taking issue with Trump’s self-proclaimed Christian identity.

“You guys Christians,” he concluded, leaving readers to ponder the inconsistency in some of his arguments.
