Contest Semifinals
When searching for “a favorite American couple,” many people think of marriage as defined by Christian husbands and wives who believe they’re built through faith. Aaron and Tabby Franc from Illinois are in the semifinals of a popular contest hosted by actor Jeff Goldblum and his wife, Emily. The contest aims to raise funds for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana, both committed to marine conservation efforts.
The winners will receive $20,000 and a range of advertising opportunities. Voting for the semifinal round will close in the East on Thursday at 10 p.m., with 14 couples making it to the finals. Fans can vote online for free.
“Whenever you have Jesus, there’s always a bright side,” Aaron, who is an actor, composer, and content creator, stated in an interview. He further emphasized the idea that marriage reflects Christ and His Church. He mentioned the inevitable challenges couples face and the importance of patience, saying, “It’s about him, and we have the privilege to represent him—though imperfectly—by loving each other as He loves us.”
The contest celebrates couples that share genuine connections and engaging love stories. According to its website, “Whether you’re a newlywed, a lifelong partner, or a dynamic duo with stories that inspire, entertain, or warm your heart, this is your moment.”
Aaron has acted in faith-based films like I Was Surprised by Oxford and Carol, while his music has been featured in productions like The Odyssey Adventures and Teen Titans Go! He and Tabby initially met at Emmaus University, a Christian school in Dubuque, Iowa.
“Tabby was my first girlfriend,” he mentioned in the couple’s bio for the contest. “We quickly became close friends, and we decided to marry so we could spend our lives together. Oh, and we have a baby—actually, we have four!”
One of their cherished memories consists of climbing onto the roof of their garage to stargaze after removing a screen from an apartment window. Aaron believes that reading the Bible and praying together daily is crucial for their marriage, balancing that with scheduling dedicated date nights.
“It’s vital to have uninterrupted time together, allowing your wife to talk freely,” he advised. “Trust me, she needs that.”
