Donna Kelsey might have inadvertently revealed her son Travis Kelsey’s relationship status with Taylor Swift.
Just two days before they announced their engagement, Donna shared insights about her younger son’s mindset. She noted, “I think his mind is calm. That’s about all I can say,” she expressed on Sunday. “He seems at peace, almost like he’s on a mission, and knows exactly what he wants.”
The 72-year-old added that her son, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, has always appreciated her “confidence in herself.”
“He’s hardworking and truly invested in his community,” she commented. “What I love most about him is that he pours his heart and soul into everything he undertakes.”
Travis and Swift recently shared a joint Instagram post featuring romantic garden photos that marked their relationship.
The three-time Super Bowl champion proposed with a stunning diamond ring estimated to cost around $550,000.
When asked how they broke the news to family and friends, Travis’ father Ed Kelsey mentioned how they quickly FaceTimed their loved ones right after the proposal.
“During practice, I got a FaceTime call from them, and as soon as I saw it was Travis, I noticed Taylor was there too,” he shared. “Seeing them face-to-face made me really happy; their family and friends knew, so it’s wonderful to see them together.”
Ed revealed that the couple got engaged two weeks ago, with rumors suggesting Kelce proposed shortly after filming the “New Heights” podcast.
“He took her out for dinner, suggesting they enjoy some wine first… It was a beautiful moment when he asked her,” he said.
The couple began their romance in the summer of 2023 after a noteworthy appearance on Travis’s podcast and a memorable moment at her concert in Kansas City during her tour.
Earlier, Kelsey had alluded to the fact that Taylor couldn’t see him due to some miscommunication, but it later turned out she hadn’t reached out to the right people to arrange it.
Swift recently reflected on her ambitious gestures during a podcast, describing her intentions as “wild” and “romantic.”
“He didn’t get the memo about how to handle it, which made things tricky for everyone,” she added. “That was my first thought.”
