Frankie Muniz Injured in Ladder Accident
Frankie Muniz, known for his role in “Malcolm in the Middle,” shared on social media that he faced serious injuries requiring a recovery period of 6-8 weeks. He announced he would miss upcoming NASCAR races after a fall from a ladder in his backyard.
In his post, Muniz reflected, “The phrase ‘FML’ (Frankie Muniz’s life) takes on a new meaning. I’m disappointed to say that I can’t race this weekend or for the next few weeks because of a distal radius fracture. Yesterday, I fell while changing the battery of my backyard ring camera.”
Muniz went on to express his frustration, noting that it might have been safer to use a taller ladder. “I’m really bummed about missing the race, but, honestly, I’m just thankful that it wasn’t worse,” he continued. “I feel like I’ve invested so much into this season, and I appreciate the support from @fordperformance. The doctor said it’ll be 6-8 weeks for recovery, so I’ll be back behind the wheel as soon as I’m cleared.”
According to medical sources, distal radius fractures are common wrist injuries, typically occurring near the wrist joint. Representatives for Muniz did not respond immediately for further comments.
This latest injury comes almost a year after Muniz faced multiple injuries from a multi-vehicle accident while competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in Avondale, Arizona.
In updates following the crash, sports reporter Noalis shared a video showing Muniz being assisted by paramedics. Earlier, he had mentioned that Muniz took a “hard hit” during the race but later reassured fans that he was “OK.” However, the crash was described as “unfortunate.”
It’s been years since Muniz stepped away from Hollywood to pursue a career in racing. After achieving fame as a child actor, he shifted gears professionally, focusing on professional race car driving. He expressed gratitude for the opportunities as an actor but noted how racing offers a more concrete measure of success. “I’ve been fortunate with acting, but in racing, it’s not just opinions; it’s results,” he stated.
Montiz shared his transition with media last year, excitedly describing it as fulfilling a lifelong dream. “I can’t believe it; it’s like a dream come true. I want to fully commit to this and become the best race car driver I can be,” he affirmed.
