The left-leaning New York Times is facing backlash for referring to the Minneapolis shooter as “she,” even though the individual was a man who later adopted a female name.
In an article published regarding the tragic shooting at the Cancarization Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, it was reported that two innocent children lost their lives and several others were injured.
“Those who say the police were firing at a Catholic school in Minneapolis on Wednesday seem to be quite familiar with the location,” the article stated about the event.
Honestly, I find it troubling! The mayor of Minneapolis expressed “thoughts and prayers” for the victims of the shooting.
“The mother of the suspect, Mary Grace Westman, worked in the church’s business office for five years before retiring in 2021. The suspect, in a video shared on social media, displayed a hand-drawn sketch of the interior,” the report added.
Eric Dorgerty, a director at Florida Voice Assistant News, shared a screenshot of the The era headline, saying, “This could be one of the most outrageous headlines ever by the New York Times. About the shooter in the Minneapolis Church: ‘The Minneapolis suspect was aware of her target, yet the motive remains unclear.’
On social media, users swiftly expressed their opinions about the headline. One user remarked, “If mainstream media were as clueless as we believed, America would be in serious trouble.”
“He’s dead… what benefit is there in continuing the delusion by calling him her?” another user questioned. Yet another said, “This is absurd.”
Another commenter urged, “Stop censoring words. Trans shooter,” while another user noted, “Zero’s journalistic integrity has been sacrificed at the altar of orientation.”

Officials confirmed the day of the shooting that the attacker had transitioned from a male name to a female name and was identified as a woman, according to Breitbart News.
Documents circulating on social media were verified by officials. These documents detail the name change that took place in 2020 when the gunman was a minor, which needed parental approval.
Fox News correspondent Brook Taylor reported that the mother had authorized the change from “Robert” to “Robin.”
Breitbart News indicated that the shooter allegedly used a pistol, rifle, and shotgun during the attack on Wednesday morning, shooting through a window as people entered the church. Two children died, and 17 others were injured.
It was noted that the shooter later took his own life.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey criticized the backlash against the transgender community after FBI director Kash Patel stated the shooter identified as a “transgender woman,” as reported by Breitbart News on Wednesday.
