Karrueche Tran had to put on a smile while talking about her personal life, especially amid speculation about her rumored relationship with Deion Sanders.
In a recent episode of the podcast “What’s next for J. Ryan?”, the actress, known for her role in “Nnines,” spoke about her life, insisting she is “fun” after a video surfaced of her tearfully at Sanders’ side in the hospital prior to his bladder removal surgery.
Ryan asked her about her dating status, curious because he noticed she had shown interest in football. Tran responded playfully, grinning, “Oh, he went there!” Her close friend, actress Christina Milian, was also present on the podcast.
Tran, now 37, took a moment before confirming, “Yeah, I’m dating.”
She elaborated, explaining, “If I wasn’t having fun, I wouldn’t be there. I’m in a place where I know what I want. I’ve dated quite a bit and seen a lot. If I’m not happy with my situation, I won’t waste my time.”
Tran added, “I don’t have time for negativity. If I’m not content, I’d rather be at home, just relaxing, doing my own thing by 9 PM. So, yes, I’m in a good spot right now.”
She also mentioned, “I’m getting older and looking to slow down to find something real.”
Interestingly, Sanders’ name didn’t come up at all during her remarks.
The duo first sparked dating rumors after a video showed Tran crying beside Sanders, who had recently discovered a cancerous tumor in May, as shared on his son’s YouTube channel.
Tran stayed close to Sanders as he entered the operating room, holding his hand through it all.
During the podcast, she spoke openly about what she finds unattractive in relationships. “It’s a turn-off when anyone feels possessive or is jealous. People who don’t support your interests, like yoga or spending time with friends, can be problematic. I really need peace, respect, and trust.”
Her ideal partner, she mentioned, is someone who can make her laugh and has a caring nature. “I love it when a guy is thoughtful, enjoys romantic outings or adventures.”
Sanders, on the other hand, has remained tight-lipped about his personal life.
During a recent appearance, he sidestepped questions about the dating rumors with Tran, though he has addressed his health issues and recovery following his bladder surgery.
The former Hall of Famer split from his long-time fiancée, Tracey Edmonds, in December 2023, after a 12-year relationship.
After taking a break earlier this spring for undisclosed health concerns, Sanders has announced that he is now cancer-free following his surgery. His team, the Buffaloes, is set to face Georgia Tech in Boulder for their 2025 season opener this Friday.
