Trump to Award Giuliani Presidential Medal of Freedom

President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he plans to bestow the Presidential Medal of Freedom on former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani. In his statement, Trump described Giuliani as “the largest mayor in New York City’s history” and a “great American patriot,” emphasizing the significance of this honor. He mentioned details about the time and place of the award would be shared later.

This announcement comes just a day after Giuliani was seriously injured in a car accident in New Hampshire. There have been rumors suggesting that he was attacked, but his spokesperson clarified that Giuliani was flagged down by a woman needing help after escaping domestic violence, and he then called 911. After speaking with the officers, he left for his rental car, which was subsequently struck from behind on a highway.

Giuliani suffered multiple injuries, including a fractured thoracic vertebrae. His spokesperson, Michael Ragusa, provided updates on his condition, indicating he is on the mend.

Ragusa reported that Giuliani is expected to leave the hospital in a few days, highlighting his resilience, noting, “This is the man who survived 9/11. So a little car accident won’t slow him down.” Giuliani has expressed a desire to return to his work, continuing his efforts for the country, something he has been proud to do for decades.

Giuliani joined Trump’s legal team in 2018 and was involved during the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
