Influencer Jess Hurrell Passes Away at 42
Jess Hurrell, a prominent influencer with over 94,000 followers on Instagram, has sadly passed away at the age of 42.
The UK-based content creator, celebrated for her interior design know-how, lost her battle with cancer after eight years, as her family shared on Instagram this past Saturday.
“Her positive energy was infectious, and everyone who knew her cherished her presence,” her family expressed in a heartfelt tribute.
“Even after facing this awful illness for so many years, she retained an incredible strength and positivity. Many people were unaware of her struggles.”
“Our hearts are broken, and she will always be remembered. May she rest in peace,” they added.
Jess carved a niche for herself in the social media space, engaging followers with content about home transformations and lifestyle, along with family vacations and recipes.
She leaves behind her husband David and their two children, Rafferty and Nelly.
The couple married in 2011 after dating for 11 years, having met in school.
Over the weekend, David shared a touching message celebrating their 14th anniversary.
“Happy Anniversary, Leader Lin,” he wrote on Instagram. “I can’t believe it’s already been 14 years, but I feel so lucky to have known you for 25 years. You’ll always be incredible to me, and I hope to see you again.”
Before her rise as an internet personality, Hurrell worked as a journalist for national newspapers. Eventually, she left that career to focus on her family and her newfound passion.
“I really did burn out from that early morning routine; however, I still treasure those lunch dates with you all,” she once shared, reminiscing about her past life.
She also mentioned that while early starts occasionally happen, they’re not as frequent now.
It was during this transition that she launched her interior design blog, “Gold is Neutral.”
