Trump Plans Autopen Portrait for New Rose Garden Display
Former President Trump has announced his intention to showcase a portrait related to President Biden’s use of an autopen on the new “Presidential Fame Wall” in the Rose Garden.
In a recent interview, Trump revealed the concept of this portrait while discussing Biden’s planning for the Rose Garden and was questioned about potentially featuring a photo of Biden himself.
“That’s not a compelling question,” Trump remarked. “We’ve chosen to feature the autopen photo instead.”
He shared with reporters a mockup of what the “Biden Autopen” portrait would look like, stating, “This could spark quite a bit of controversy.”
Trump went on to criticize Biden further, mentioning the latter’s diagnosis of an aggressive form of prostate cancer that was disclosed in May. Biden’s condition was noted for its severity, being described with a Gleason score of 9, along with signs of metastasis.
Despite having utilized automatic pens himself during his presidency, Trump has often criticized their use, claiming he reserved them for “very unimportant papers.”
In the same interview, Trump insisted that Biden shouldn’t rely on an autopen, referencing Ian Sams, the president’s legal advisor and past special assistant.
In response, Biden defended his use of the autopen and previously indicated that Republicans were spreading misinformation, claiming they were not in the dark about decisions made on his behalf toward the end of his presidency.
Trump is also pursuing significant renovations to the White House, including the construction of a new $200 million ballroom.
When asked if he intends to name the ballroom after himself, he replied, “Well, I’m the one who gets to name it.”
“I dislike it—I’m just ensuring my financial contributions are recognized. I understand the government isn’t flush with cash,” he added.
