Trump to be at Yankees game in New York on September 11 anniversary

Former President Donald Trump is set to attend a Yankees game in the Bronx on September 11, marking the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, according to sources. The Yankees are currently in a tight race for the AL East and will be playing against the Detroit Tigers, who lead the AL Central, which might hint at a potential postseason matchup.

Throughout his years in the public eye, Trump has been seen at various sporting events, though he hasn’t attended a baseball game during his current presidential term.

Back in 2019, Trump notably participated in Game 5 of the World Series between the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros, and he was also present at the Astros-Braves World Series in 2021—this was after he lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden. Interestingly, Trump expressed interest in throwing the first pitch at a Yankees game in 2020, but that didn’t happen due to pandemic concerns.

Before his presidency, Trump was involved in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series between the New York Mets and the St. Louis Cardinals at Shea Stadium.

Next year, the Yankees and Mets will face off at Yankee Stadium on September 11 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the attacks, similar to an event held at Citi Field in 2021, where the Mets wore special “New York” uniforms.

Vice President JD Vance is expected to attend a ceremony at Ground Zero in Manhattan, while Trump will participate in a commemorative gathering at the Pentagon earlier that day.

Furthermore, Trump is planning to attend the Ryder Cup in New York on September 26 and took part in the FIFA Club World Cup Championship at MetLife Stadium this past July.
