Hegseth alerts drug traffickers following the US strike that wrecked a Venezuelan boat

Military Action Against Drug Traffickers

Defense Secretary Pete Hegses issued a stark warning to drug traffickers on Wednesday, detailing a US military operation that destroyed a Venezuelan drug ship in the Caribbean, resulting in the deaths of 11 suspected members of the Tren de Aragua group.

Hegses emphasized, “It’s a new day. This is an activity that the United States does not tolerate in our hemisphere,” during his appearance on Fox & Friends.

Meanwhile, Freddie Nannez, Venezuela’s Minister of Communication and Information, rejected allegations made by Hegses, claiming that the attacks were propelled by a misunderstanding involving artificial intelligence.

China’s Response to US Military Presence

In a related note, China has criticized the increase of US military forces near the Venezuelan coast, labeling it as foreign interference in regional matters.

Hegses dismissed the notion of AI being involved in the operation, asserting that he witnessed the event unfold in real-time. “We knew precisely who was on that boat, what they were doing, and whom they represented,” he stated.

The defense secretary characterized the military strike as a targeted action against an organization responsible for trafficking illegal drugs into the United States.

Video Evidence of the Strike

Footage shared by President Trump displayed the dramatic explosion of the vessel, serving as a warning to those considering drug trafficking to the US. He noted that no American troops were harmed during this operation.

Furthermore, he confirmed that the explosion took place in international waters while terrorists were attempting to transport illegal drugs to the United States.

Although Hegses could not provide all the specifics of the operation, he stressed that it was executed with “precision.” He cautioned that this strike is only the beginning. “Anyone else identified as a narcoterrorist will face the same outcome,” he added, underlining the importance of maintaining safety for American citizens.
