Rudy Giuliani Injured in Car Accident

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently recovering from a broken vertebra and other injuries sustained in a car accident that occurred late Saturday night in New Hampshire. His spokesman, Ted Goodman, clarified that although Giuliani was driving, he was actually in the passenger seat of a rental Ford Bronco when a Honda HR-V, driven by a 19-year-old woman, collided with them from behind.

According to state police, witnesses reported that both vehicles were “severely damaged” after they both struck the median. It has been mentioned that both Goodman and the young woman suffered “life-threatening injuries” and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Currently, the investigation into the incident is ongoing, and no charges have been filed.

Giuliani’s security officer, Michael Ragusa, mentioned that the 81-year-old former mayor was taken to a nearby trauma center for treatment of a fractured thoracic vertebra, along with multiple tears and injuries to his left arm and lower extremities.

Ragusa also pointed out that prior to the accident, Giuliani had been supporting victims of domestic abuse, adding that he is “injured but doing okay and is very resilient.”

Ragusa dismissed rumors suggesting that the crash might have been a “targeted attack,” emphasizing the need for privacy and urging against the spread of unfounded conspiracy theories regarding the incident.

Giuliani’s son, Andrew, expressed gratitude to everyone supporting his father. In a post, he said, “Your prayers mean the world,” which gives a glimpse into the family’s sentiments during this challenging time.

Just two days post-accident, former President Donald Trump released a statement acknowledging Giuliani’s contributions, calling him “a great American patriot and the greatest mayor in New York history.” Trump hinted that additional details would follow shortly.

Giuliani has been a significant figure in Trump’s circles, acting as an advisor during the 2016 presidential election and later serving as his personal lawyer. Since 2020, he has faced numerous legal challenges related to his attempts to contest the 2020 election, including criminal charges in Georgia and Arizona, along with a sizable financial ruling against him.
