New Tool from the Social Security Administration
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has introduced a new tool aimed at simplifying access to personal information for millions of Americans.
This new online resource, known as My Social Security, is already serving around 97 million users. It’s designed to be a secure and user-friendly way for individuals—regardless of whether they’re currently receiving benefits—to manage their information and connect with the SSA anytime they need.
According to a blog announcement, “You don’t have to retire or quit work to use it. This is the most convenient way to do business with us, from anywhere, on any device.”
The SSA has added a range of features that allow users to access information round the clock, including:
- Retirement Calculator
- Online “Social Security Statements” based on age and earnings
- Profit verification access
- View form SSA-1099
Additionally, the SSA has expanded access to existing features, meaning that Americans can now securely manage their information and interact with the SSA at any time that suits them.
Some of the features available include:
- Viewing profit and payment details
- Checking voluntary tax withholding information
- Accessing messages in the Message Center
- Viewing direct deposit information
- Displaying current address information
- Updating preferred selections
- Adjusting special notification options
- Using the Upload Document Tool
- Visiting I454 for ongoing disability reviews
- Accessing details about representative appointed recipients
Moreover, users can receive personalized estimates for retirement benefits, spousal benefits, and confirmation letters indicating they’re not currently receiving benefits.
