Newly released security footage shows Robin Westman, an archer affiliated with the Devil’s Announcement Church, mingling with employees and customers at a gun store in St. Louis Park. This footage, shared by KSTP, captures an encounter that took place on August 23rd, around 12:30 PM, where he appears in a T-shirt featuring a motif related to happiness.
Store owner Cory Krauss noted that Westman was described as “friendly” and “cheerful” throughout his 40-minute visit, during which he browsed a variety of firearms including both pistols and rifles.
Krauss reflected on the incident with a sense of helplessness, expressing uncertainty about what warning signs might have been present. He mentioned that Westman’s distinct appearance—his long hair styled in a ponytail—should not lead to discrimination, acknowledging that many people have similar hairstyles.
Importantly, Westman did not purchase any firearms or ammunition from the store that were later used in the church shooting. In the horrific attack, Westman failed to gain entry through a locked door, subsequently firing 116 rounds from a rifle and breaking stained glass windows with at least three shotguns. This tragic event unfolded during a mass celebrating the new semester, resulting in the deaths of two children, aged 8 and 10, and injuring 16 other children along with three older parishioners. It ended with Westman taking his own life following the attack.
