Trump Pressed by Polish Journalists Over Russia Actions

WASHINGTON – Polish journalists confronted President Trump on Wednesday about his lack of decisive measures against Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump responded with frustration, suggesting, “You should get a new job for yourself.”

One reporter pointed out, “I have expressed my frustration and disappointment with President Putin many times, but I haven’t seen any action since you took office.” This prompted Trump to ask, “How do you know there’s no action? Really?” He then interrupted himself with, “Wait, wait, who are you with?”

The reporter mentioned, “I’m aligned with Polish media,” trying to clarify his stance. In response, Trump challenged him, asking again, “How do you know you’re not acting?”

Trump argued that secondary tariffs on India for buying Russian energy were a form of action. “Do you really think they won’t impose sanctions on India, the largest buyer of Russian oil?” he questioned. He added that Russia’s actions have cost hundreds of millions of dollars, questioning whether that could be dismissed as “no action.” He expressed confidence that he hasn’t even reached the second or third phases of sanctions yet.

As Putin celebrated the end of World War II in China, Trump indicated that he would discuss matters with him following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump had previously threatened “massive” sanctions if no agreement was reached by both leaders by their two-week deadline.

He remarked, “I see who’s at fault. If there’s a reason, I’ll understand it.” This hinted at potential future decisions regarding sanctions or tariffs, or possibly taking a step back and saying, “It’s your fight.”

During his comments on Wednesday, Trump noted, “President Putin has no message. He knows where I stand and he will make a decision in some way. Whatever that decision is, we’ll either be happy or unhappy about it.”
