JFK's Grandson Seeks Nadler's Vacant Congressional Position

Schlossberg Contemplates Run for Nadler’s Seat

The political scene is buzzing with the prospect of a new contender for Senator Jerry Nadler’s seat in New York, as President Jack Schlossberg—grandson of John F. Kennedy—mulls over the possibility of running. At 32 years old, Schlossberg recently expressed to New York Times that entering the race for Nadler’s position is “certainly a possibility.”

According to Breitbart News, Nadler declared his retirement in Congress after a lengthy three-decade career, suggesting that the shifting landscape following Joe Biden’s presidency is prompting changes within the Democratic Party. Nadler’s exit may set the stage for an unusual primary contest for Democrats in Manhattan. His district, which stretches from Union Square to Central Park, includes important cultural sites and some of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the country.

He acknowledged that various allies may decide to run but emphasized that they won’t play a direct role in selecting his successor.

Schlossberg shared his gratitude towards Nadler on Instagram, thanking him for years of public service. He reflected, “We would like to thank Nadler for his years of service and leadership in our country and New York.” His message highlighted the legacy Nadler leaves behind.

Speculation is swirling regarding potential candidates, with initial rumors suggesting that Chelsea Clinton, former First Daughter, might consider running for Nadler’s spot. However, her team has officially denied these reports.

Interestingly, Schlossberg has attracted some attention for his peculiar behavior, particularly towards actress Cheryl Hines. An incident from last year involved Schlossberg reaching out to her on Instagram for an unusual favor, despite never having met her. He mentioned the need to apologize to the family of a child who succumbed to measles, referencing a specific case involving a 6-year-old girl in Texas.

In a separate incident this past July, Schlossberg tweeted comments about Hines, suggesting she looked “super dehydrated,” while also indicating he still had never met her. This odd conduct didn’t go unnoticed and drew reactions, including from Hines herself, who admitted she chose to ignore his antics.

Hines remarked, “[Schlossberg’s] action—I don’t even want to say anything… Because whatever I say, he’ll think he’ll be thrilled that someone is talking about him.”
