Brady Addresses Ownership Concerns in Broadcast Role

Tom Brady, while providing commentary on NFL games, reassured fans that his minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders won’t bias his perspectives on other teams.

Recently, during his broadcast, some raised concerns about whether his ownership would influence his commentary, particularly regarding favoritism towards the Raiders, as reported.

Brady responded, stating that fans shouldn’t worry about any favoritism affecting the way he discusses the Raiders or any opponents they face. “I don’t want to be negative when I’m on air. My goal is to highlight the positives of all teams. I genuinely love the NFL and sports,” he mentioned on a podcast this week. “If I can convey that positivity to the audience, I’m doing something right. I won’t mislead viewers about what they’re seeing.”

Brady’s 5% ownership in the Raiders was approved last year, just before he joined the Fox NFL broadcasting team. Due to potential conflicts of interest, he was excluded from last season’s production meetings but is now allowed to attend them remotely.

During his conversation with podcast host Cris Collinsworth, Brady also expressed that he doesn’t push players to respond to reporters. “If players choose not to answer questions, that’s perfectly fine. My main aim is to offer insights into the game, helping viewers understand it better,” he said.

Speaking about his new role, Brady expressed gratitude for being acknowledged as a co-owner of the Raiders. He remarked on the importance of teamwork and resilience in football, values he feels resonate with the Raiders and the city of Las Vegas. “I’m truly honored to be part of that legacy,” he stated.

Interestingly, Brady won’t be in the booth during the Raiders’ game against his former team, the New England Patriots. Instead, he will cover the game between the Giants and the Commanders at Commanders Northwest Stadium.
