Lady Gaga Cancels Miami Show Due to Vocal Issues

Just as Lady Gaga was about to take the stage in Miami, she announced the cancellation of her performance due to vocal issues that could potentially harm her voice.

The “Bad Romance” artist, currently on her Mayhemball tour across the U.S. since July, took to Instagram on Wednesday evening to inform her 61 million followers about the setback. She stated, “Hello everyone. I’m really sorry, but I’ll have to postpone tonight’s show in Miami.” Gaga was set to perform a two-hour concert at the Kaya Center in Miami. “My voice was very nervous during my rehearsal last night and my vocal warm-up tonight,” she added. Her doctor and vocal coach advised against performing due to possible risks.

She expressed a sense of urgency in wanting to deliver for her fans, saying, “I want to be hardcore and push this through for you, but I don’t want to risk long-term or permanent damage to my vocal cords.” She recognized the challenges of performing live and described her decision as difficult and painful. “I genuinely hope you can accept my sincere apologies for any disappointment,” she wrote, emphasizing her dedication to her craft and fans.

Gaga further explained, “I tried so hard to avoid this. I’m really careful about my health so I can perform this demanding show. I love my fans so much and I respect you.” She informed that efforts are being made to reschedule the concert as soon as possible.

She has upcoming performances scheduled at Madison Square Garden in New York on September 6th and 7th.

Gaga isn’t alone in facing last-minute cancellations; recently, Kelly Clarkson also postponed her Las Vegas residency shows. Clarkson announced on August 6th via Instagram, “Unfortunately, we need to postpone the remaining dates for the August studio session in Las Vegas. I need to be completely present for my children.” It was later revealed that her ex-husband was battling melanoma and passed away earlier this month.
