Trump’s Policies Spark Small Business Revival, Says SBA Administrator
WASHINGTON — During a speech at the National Conservatism Conference on Thursday, Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Kelly Loeffler praised President Donald Trump’s policies, asserting that they are leading to a “historic comeback” for American communities after years marked by “empty promises of globalism.”
Loeffler emphasized that the U.S. is undergoing a “moral, economic, and national security transformation” under Trump’s leadership. She believes this shift is the most significant since the industrial revolution and the Cold War.
“We are rebuilding this nation,” Loeffler stated. “President Trump is leading a historic comeback after a long period of neglect and waste. Our nation is resilient, and despite the damage done by the policies of former Presidents Obama and Biden, the tide is changing. We are fostering a new America-first economy, which makes America exceptional again and opens doors to generational prosperity for hardworking families and underappreciated areas, like my hometown.”
“Heartland communities had been overlooked as globalism led to the decline of countless small towns and dreams,” she continued. “Thanks to November 5, 2024, the nation is experiencing a crucial transformation—possibly the biggest since the industrial revolution and the Cold War.”
Loeffler expressed that Trump is “clearly putting the government back to work for the American people,” and that U.S. workers and industries are finally regaining their central role in national policy.
“Before Trump, hardworking Americans were really stuck in what I call an upside-down economy,” she explained. “Government dominance in private sector healthcare, dysfunctional schools controlled by federal rules and politicized unions, job outsourcing to China—it was a troubling pattern we saw repeatedly.”
“Effects of inflationary spending and soaring interest rates pushed families, farmers, and small businesses to the brink, reminiscent of a negative cycle. I witnessed it firsthand and understood the toxic mix of rising governmental power and globalization was a deliberate choice, not merely a trend,” she added.
“Thankfully, we are shifting our focus back to freeing up small businesses and entrepreneurs, with Trump standing firm against both adversaries and allies to replace exploitative trade practices with fair ones,” said Loeffler.
She underscored that Trump’s economic strategies run counter to the mainstream narrative, asserting he did not “upend” the economy but rather set it right again.
“It may seem odd to point out, but the government was meant to prioritize our workers, citizens, values, and security—and that is happening again,” she remarked.
Loeffler asked, “So why are small businesses crucial to America?” noting that they represent 99% of all businesses across every state. “Small businesses drive the economy—they are pivotal for job creation and innovation, which is why President Trump often says, ‘Kelly, small business is big business.’
On the same day, the SBA announced the launch of its inaugural loan program specifically designed to support small manufacturers in the U.S.
“Outsourcing prosperity while importing unity carries significant risks,” Loeffler stated. “We’re returning our focus to building sustainable growth anchored in American values—investing locally while our small businesses are actively doing just that.”
“The tide is turning, and America’s economy is once again aligned,” she concluded. “While we anticipate rebuilding millions of jobs and trillions of dollars in economic activity, one of the most significant yet immeasurable changes is the hope being restored in communities, the renewed faith in our future, and the revival of our core values.”
