Oregon condo residents find something disturbing in the crawl space.

Oregon authorities have detained a man who was discovered living in the crawl space of an apartment complex. This came after the property owner noted some unusual sounds coming from that area.

The authorities reported that Beniamin Bukur, 40, had set up quite a makeshift living situation there, including beds, lights, chargers, and even televisions connected to the building’s power. It seems he had possibly been living in this cramped space for quite some time. In a troubling find, a pipe with white residue that tested positive for methamphetamine was also found during the investigation.

The police were alerted when a witness observed someone, who didn’t appear to live in the parking lot, making their way toward the back of the building. This, coupled with the owner’s report of strange noises, prompted them to investigate further.

The situation escalated when deputies arrived to find that the crawl space door was damaged and locked. They noticed lights on inside, which raised more suspicion. When they reached out to the property owner, they were told that there shouldn’t have been anyone there and certainly no lights should be visible.

Eventually, the owner provided the deputies with keys to the crawl space, but those keys didn’t work. As a result, the officers forced the door open and came across Bukur.

Photos released by investigators depicted a flat-screen television tied to a beam, as well as string lights enhancing the acrid atmosphere of the crawl space. Additionally, deputies found more drug paraphernalia, including a pipe with white residue tied to Bukur.

Bukur now faces charges related to first-degree robbery and illegal possession of methamphetamine, with bail set at $75,000.
