Daniel Ricciardo Becomes Ford’s Global Racing Ambassador
Former Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo has shared his latest career move—he’s joining Ford as a global racing ambassador.
This new role is set to begin next season, coinciding with the entry of American manufacturers into Formula 1, specifically through a power unit partnership with Red Bull Racing, a team Ricciardo is familiar with.
Ricciardo’s announcement included a thoughtful message, expressing his reasons for this transition. “I wanted to pen some quick notes to celebrate this exciting news. My passion for racing remains strong, even though my competitive race days have wrapped up. I’m honored to partner with Ford as their global racing ambassador,” Ricciardo said. “I’ll be collaborating closely with the Ford Racing team, focusing on the Raptor brand and its lifestyle, which I think is particularly exciting for many Ford enthusiasts.”
He went on to highlight what drew him to Ford and the Raptor. “The enthusiasm for motorsports from Ford and its employees is evident. But what truly thrills me is their continuous efforts to innovate and enhance the driving experience. Ford is crafting a compelling motorsports business while integrating new technologies into everyday cars.”
Ricciardo added, “With its robust dedication to ‘made in America’ and a focus on trucks, the Raptor is becoming a global force. I find myself among many satisfied customers.”
He expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming projects Ford Racing has in store. “I couldn’t be more thrilled about all the fantastic opportunities with Ford and the remarkable events lined up. From Formula 1 to Dakar and Le Mans to Bathurst, there are few that can compare.”
Ricciardo stepped away from Formula 1 halfway through the 2024 season, having raced for Red Bull’s junior team, the Visa Cash App RB F1 team (now known as Visa Cash App Racing Bulls). His final race occurred at the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix, after which he was succeeded by Liam Lawson.
Throughout his F1 career, Ricciardo won eight races, with his last victory at the 2021 Italian Grand Prix while driving for McLaren.
